• Learning Data: We collect data on your interactions, such as flashcard review history and "mark learned" status, to power features like our Spaced Repetition System (SRS).
• Cookies: We use web cookies to collect non-personal data to improve the service experience.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the Active Vocab platform.
• Process and host your multimedia uploads.
• Personalize your learning schedule and retention algorithms.

3. Data Hosting & Security (GDPR)

Your data is hosted securely in Germany via Hetzner. We respect the data privacy laws of the GDPR regarding your user-generated content (audio, images, notes, metadata). While we implement reasonable security measures, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

4. Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do not share your user-generated content with third parties. We share data only as necessary for the operation of the service:

• Email Services: We share email addresses with our email service provider purely for communication purposes.
• Authentication: We share data provided for login with third-party services (e.g., Google Firebase).

5. Children's Privacy

Our service is restricted to adults (16+ years). We do not knowingly collect data from children.
